Firstly I would
like to welcome to the team Ben Allison, Lee Butler, Lee Duggins, Joe Carey and
a Welcome back to Adam Dipple and Danny Gorman!! And a thank you to the others
for continuing on with us.
This was the most
frustrating game I have ever watched! Jays played us offside every time we
tried to make a break for it. We
conceded 5 goals and the only thing to cheer was when Lee Butler made a great
run down the park and put the ball in the back of the net!!
A most enjoyable
game to watch, the lads played much better football. Both teams equally matched. A shot from just
inside the box saw Lee Butler put it the in bottom left corner and a stunning
goal by Nick Heslop, (Paul Konchesky style in the FA cup), kept the game a
draw.
The lads played
some great football and really commanded this game. Goals by Lee Butler, Jake Wellington, Jack
Snelling and Paul Shields. I believe we
would not have conceded a goal if everyone had kept in their regular
positions. Special thanks to Adam Dipple
and Lee Duggins who played in goal, great job lads!!
A day when we
lined up with lots of lads playing out of position and saw the largest full
back aged 17/18 I have ever seen in my life. Playing in the wilderness we know
as
UNDER 16’S - MANAGEMENT TEAM - TONT
LEVERETT,
We started off well and at 0-0 at half time
it was all to play for, 10 minutes into the second half Adam Matheson came on
for Darren Newman and with his first touch of the ball it was 1-0 to Essex
Royals with a well taken free kick by Rorie Bonner for Adam Matheson to slot in
from close range. After many chances each end Rorie Bonner gave away a penalty
for high kicking and after the second attempt Grays Cosmos equalised, it was
after another substitution that Essex Royals went 2-1 up when Billy Curtis scored
a well taken goal after rounding the keeper. We played well keeping it tight in
all areas then up popped Billy Curtis again with his second of the game, and
with 2 minutes of the game left Grays Cosmos made the final score 3-2.
Jack Tunbridge took Man of the Match.
For the second week running we play Grays
Cosmos, after a steady start we should have been at least 2-0 up, at half time
we made a triple substitution with Chris Jackson on for David Vinas, Darren
Newman on for Jack Lynch and Adam Matheson on for Charlie Halloran, within 10
minutes of the substitution worked with a goal by Chris Jackson which just went
over the line.10 minutes after we scored our goal, Rorie Bonner gave away a
free kick with handball outside the area and the score was now 1-1, which was
the result at the end of the match.
the game started badly when Cosmos got an
early goal. our heads went down and we just couldn't string a few passes
together to build some confidence. it was not fun to watch and to make matters
worst Cosmos got a cracker of a 2nd goal. our game picked up slightly in the
2nd half but slight knocks to Charlie Halloran and David Vinas meant
reorganisation and our balance was lost. lets hope this is our worst
performance this season. one positive thing was that Rorie Bonner didn't give
away any penalties this week!! everyone sends best wishes to Chris Jackson who
dislocated his knee on Saturday at training.

Man of the match Craig Wearne
A difficult game for us having played
Saturday and coming up against a class act like Chelmsford the boys played
their hearts out but were soundly beaten by a much better team the boys played
with their heads up and the support once again was outstanding this was also commented on by the referee on
the day
Man of the match Joe Brown
Another difficult game for us especially as
we only had 10 players had we had a full
compliment the result would have been much different well done to the boys
involved you played with dignity and
respect as well as the parents this was
duly noted by the referee who passed on his comments to the club
Man of the match Joe Brown

The boys first game of the season couldn't have
started any better going 5-0 up inside 20 minutes with one each from Ryan
Watts, Jack Oliver and Tom Quinton and 2 from Charlie McCausland. We went in at
half time 5-1 up and were playing very. The second half was much of the same,
Charlie rounded off his hatrick before Billericay scored to make the final
score 6-2. Debuts from Ben Watson, Matt Murphy, Joe Williams and Ryan Watts who
all played very well. Man of the Match went to Frankie Pearson For his tireless
role as a holding midfielder.
Another goal feast and another fantastic performance. The boys are really
working well as a team and it shows in their results. Goals from Jake
Hollowbread, Tom Quinton, Frankie Pearson 2 from Jack
Oliver and 4 from Charlie McCausland. At 8-0 we conceded, the spirit of this
team really came out when they showed how disappointed they were by going
straight up the other end and scoring again. Debut from Josh Carter. Man of the
Match was Charlie McCausland for 7 goals in 2 games!!! Lets keep up the good
work!

COLT’S CORNER - PETER MEAD AND CAVAN CAREY
Numbers are picking up post the carnival
and we have split the under 5's away from this seasons under 6's. Richard is
continuing with the under 6's while I take the under 5's. Both of us being
assisted by Luke and Conor, with Cavan getting there whenever he can. We may
yet have enough players to form an under 7's and will attempt to break these
'older' players away from the main group as well. Skills and Halloween day
should see a good turnout from the Colts and we look forward to seeing how much
they have learnt from their training. It looks like the players are enjoying
themselves and I hope those parents and friends/family supporters watching
Saturday mornings are also building good relationships as they start the
football focused weekends for the next 10 to 15 years. As always we encourage
new players at this end of the age groups to come along and join the fun. Same
goes for the existing supporters Saturday mornings. If you want to assist
during training say so, the more helpers during the training the better.
